We are proud to announce that our Facilan™ Ortho and Facilan™ PCL100 3D printing filaments have received biodegradability certifications via the raw materials. These certifications highlight the importance of sustainability in our products and reinforce our commitment to providing environmentally friendly solutions in the 3D printing industry.
The certifications from global governing bodies recognize the strong sustainability profile of our Facilan™ Ortho and Facilan™ PCL100 3D printing filaments. The raw materials used in these filaments have received certifications from the Biodegradable Plastics Institute (BPI), Japanese Bioplastics Association, Seedling, and TÜV Austria OK compost HOME, OK compost INDUSTRIAL, OK biodegradable SOIL, OK biodegradable MARINE, and OK biodegradable WATER.
The certified biodegradable raw materials used by 3D4Makers address the global demand for sustainable products and are becoming a material of choice for a growing number of brands and customers around the world.
Marine and Water Biodegradability Certifications
The Facilan™ Ortho and Facilan™ PCL100 3D printing filaments are among the few bioplastics certified as OK biodegradable MARINE and WATER by TÜV Austria. This distinction requires materials to achieve complete biodegradation in water environments where much lower temperatures make biodegradability more challenging than land composting conditions. By fully biodegrading and avoiding the formation of persistent microplastics, the certified raw materials in Facilan™ Ortho and Facilan™ PCL100 filaments help customers address water biodegradability requirements of end consumers with ever-increasing concerns about environmental pollution in marine and freshwater environments.
Home and Industrial Compost Certifications
TÜV Austria compost certifications guarantee that the raw materials in our filaments meet standards to fully biodegrade in an industrial composting plant and in a home compost heap. BPI certified compostable certification confirms that the raw materials in Facilan™ Ortho and Facilan™ PCL100 3D printing filaments can be aerobically composted in industrial facilities and the compost can be cycled back into the soil, leaving behind no toxic residue or microplastics.
